Give the gift of trees to the next generation.
The Future Trees Project allows you to beautify Barbados and reduce the impact of climate change.
You probably already know that trees provide a carbon sink that neutralises carbon dioxide produced during everyday life.
But did you know this: A return flight from London to Barbados creates 1.49 tonnes of carbon dioxide. However, it only takes three trees make that flight carbon neutral. A return flight from New York to Barbados in the other hand creates 0.74 tonnes of carbon dioxide or two trees for carbon neutrality.
Making a positive climate impact is just one reason why we need the Future Trees project.
The types of trees that are being planted include mahogany, neem, royal palm, tamarind, mango, golden apple, frangipani, cordia and mahoe. There is a nice mix of ornamental or shade trees and fruit bearing trees. Beautifying Barbados with green spaces instills national pride in future generations, and fruit-bearing trees help improve food security.
